Barthco International selected by US Postal Service

Barthco International, a worldwide logistics firm headquartered in Philadelphia, Pa., has announced today that it will partner with the U.S. Postal Service through an International Customized Mail Agreement (ICM) to transport overseas small parcel products to strategic U.S. Postal distribution points throughout the nation.

The ICM, which is part of a recent U.S. Postal Service initiative to partner with commercial businesses in the transportation of international goods, is designed to lower the cost and improve the quality of service for customers.

“This is a great opportunity for both organizations. By combining our strengths, we will be able to provide customers with a service that is affordable, reliable and timely,” said Dennis Colgan, CEO of Barthco International.

Barthco, who was selected by the U.S. Postal Service after an extensive screening process, will be responsible for the collection and coordination of the shipping of the overseas packages, passing them through the U.S. Customs Service and transporting them to the U.S. Postal Service for domestic distribution.

“We foresee our partnership with Barthco as a positive one. Not only are they extremely well thought of in the Customs Brokerage business, but they have an impressive list of clients that speak very highly of them,” said Marc Solnick, Manager of Business Development for Europe for the U.S. Postal Service.

The ceremonial signing of the International Customized Mail Agreement will be held May 15 at the Union League of Philadelphia, located at 140 S. Broad St., Philadelphia, Pa. at 5:30 p.m.

Barthco International, Inc., headquartered in Philadelphia, Pa. with 16 offices throughout the U.S. and a network comprising over 100 countries, offers a full range of shipping services including: global logistics, international freight forwarding, Customs brokerage, air and sea cargo consolidations, project services, warehousing and distribution as well as consulting and supply chain security services.
