Delivery Show success for Baker Goodchild

Birmingham-based direct mail fulfilment and print management services provider, Baker Goodchild, has enjoyed a successful presence and customer interaction at this year’s Mail & Express Delivery Show Forum and Exhibition. The show, which was held on 13th May at The Royal College of Surgeon’s in the heart of London, bought together a wide variety of mail and delivery experts from across the industry sector, with Baker Goodchild, who launched their new mobile website last month, www.bakergoodchild.co.uk exhibiting at the show for the first time.

Speakers at the industry forum staged as part of the exhibition included a wide range of industry experts from the likes of Royal Mail, Hermes, eBay, Yodel, DPD, TNT, John Lewis and City Link, with topics ranging from customer innovation and expectation, e-commerce and Europe, through to delivery and digitalisation.

The wide range of varied attendees throughout the day included customers from the likes of American Apparel, Damart, Mothercare, BMW, Lloyds Bank, Interflora, Laithwaite’s Wine, Office World, Debenhams, Clarks, Fortnum & Mason, Tesco, Travis Perkins, The DVLA and Virgin Media amongst others.

Speakers at the show included Nick Landon, Managing Director of Royal Mail Parcels, who talked about the array of improvements the company had made to its collection and delivery services, including Local Collect, a new click and collect network that has been launched in the UK, as well as the new shipping and tracking API’s that are being launched this month.

In addition, Landon revealed that Royal Mail has also now opened its networks for collection and processing to cover seven days a week, whilst over 70,000 PDA’s have also been given to postmen and women, providing secure proof of delivery confirmation.

Nick Wells, CEO of TNT Post, also revealed what is driving innovation within the postal market, where he informed that audience that direct mail is still a strong element of the postal sector, forming 67% of total UK marketing communication spend.

Wells gave information on P&P InSight, where packets and parcels can now be easily tracked via barcode systems, together with web portal access, providing 100% transparency of each parcel and packet within the TNT network.

Attendees on the Baker Goodchild stand included Managing Director Lorraine Burnell, and Account Directors Adam Stafford, Matthew Perkins and Gareth Stringer.

Speaking about the success of the Delivery Show, and Baker Goodchild’s inaugural appearance, Lorraine stated, “It’s been the 3rd year I’ve attended the Mail & Express show & the 1st year we’ve exhibited – it was a great opportunity to meet our supply partners & customers and the speakers always give a great indication of where they see the mail & post market heading. The conference was most informative and really beneficial for myself & all of our team that attended.”

Based in the heart of Birmingham, close to the city centre, Baker Goodchild is a privately-owned company with over 19 years extensive experience in providing print, mail and postage solutions, throughout the UK and Internationally.
