Vanderlande has helped to drive retail sales in South Korea

Dutch supplier of automated material handling systems Vanderlande, has helped South Korea’s leading fashion retailer Shinsegae International to increase their sales.
Shinsegae International currently own 10 stores and 766 shop-in-shops. They offer the latest trends and quality fashion merchandise by retail brands including Armani, Diesel and Gap.
Over the last five years Shinsegae International’s sales have increased over 184% and continue to grow further.
To propel their growth Shinsegae International invested in a new DC equipped with two state-of-the-art CROSSORTERs 700 supplied by Vanderlande.

The new facility was completed at the beginning of December 2013 and ensures more efficient order picking and consolidation process, optimum use of available space, lower operational costs and improved stock management.

Vanderlande worked closely together with integrator SFA and together they proposed a high capacity concept to suit Shinsegae International’s needs

The CROSSORTERs 700 provide a flexible and high-capacity sorting system with a total capacity of 21,600 cases per hour. The system has the ability to handle mixed flows of both apparel and footwear products and consolidating it to customer’s orders. A special feature is the sorters’ ability to handle unwrapped apparel.

Other system features ensure improved operator efficiency and high accuracy, including batch scan functionality at the inducts. Chutes with dual functionality enabling buffering and sortation direct into the customer box and integrated on- and offline chute controls provide Shinsegae International with WMS real time chute functionality enabling them to start-stop whenever necessary.

Vanderlande is world leader in the market for Baggage Handling at airports, and has a leading position in sorting solutions for Parcel & Postal facilities. Furthermore, the company has a strong position in the automation of warehouses for food retail, fashion, parts & components and tyres.
