UPS appoints veteran TH Lim to lead UPS Malaysia

UPS announced today that Tze Hsien (TH) Lim has been named General Manager of UPS Malaysia. Lim, a UPS veteran of over 20 years, assumes responsibility for all express delivery and logistics activities for UPS Malaysia. Lim will lead integrated express and supply chain operations for the company and is tasked with providing strategic direction to generate sustainable business growth. Based in Kuala Lumpur, he will oversee all business aspects including customer management, sales, marketing and operations.

“The Malaysian economy is expected to continue to expand in the second half of 2014 according to a recent report by the Malaysian Institute of Economic Research (Mier)1,” said Nando Cesarone, president of UPS Asia Pacific. “Lim is an asset to the UPS Malaysia team and his extensive experience in a range of functions including strategy and operations makes him the ideal candidate to lead the business. With this appointment, UPS remains committed to assisting Malaysian companies capture the exponential growth opportunities, and supporting them in expanding regionally and globally in an evolving marketplace.”

Lim joined UPS in 1990, and has since held various regional and country roles, including Vice President of Industrial Engineering for UPS Asia Pacific and General Manager for UPS Southern China. From 2010 to 2013, Lim was also the regional Vice President of Strategic Planning and Development based in Singapore, and during his tenure, spearheaded several projects including the relocation of the UPS Asia Pacific Hub from Clark, Philippines, to Shenzhen, China; as well as the expansion of fully-controlled operation locations in China from 23 cities to 33.

Prior to this role, Lim was the vice president of Strategy and Operations for UPS China, and was tasked with UPS’s express business operations and strategic planning for the market.

Lim holds a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering and Management from Oklahoma State University in the U.S. He is conversant in English, Bahasa Malaysia, Mandarin and Cantonese.
