New senior appointment for Deutsche Post DHL
Melanie Kreis has been appointed as a new member of the Board of Management of Deutsche Post DHL, the Supervisory Board of Deutsche Post AG have announced. Formerly CFO of DHL Express, Ms Kreis will take over responsibility for Personnel and as Labor Director of Deutsche Post DHL.
Commenting on the appointment, Deutsche Post DHL CEO Frank Appel said: “Melanie Kreis is a proven leader with strong business acumen and the ability to bring people together.”
“Her industry insights coupled with her broad experience across functions will enable her to lead the Human Resources department successfully,” he adds.
Melanie Kreis started her career with McKinsey & Company in 1997, before moving to Apax Partners Private Equity in 2000. She joined Deutsche Post DHL in 2004, to focus on international M&A projects. Following the Group’s acquisition of Exel in 2005, she moved to Bracknell, U.K., to lead the overall Logistics integration effort. Melanie Kreis returned to Bonn at the end of 2006 to become EVP Corporate Office/Corporate Organization. In this role, Melanie Kreis was instrumental in planning and executing the sale of Postbank to Deutsche Bank. In 2010, Melanie Kreis was appointed as EVP Corporate Controlling and successfully advanced essential strategic topics for the Group.
Melanie Kreis is an MBA from INSEAD, Fontainebleau. She earned her Diploma in Physics from University of Bonn along with an additional Master’s degree in Physics from University of Stony Brook, New York.
