CitySprint seeks more couriers for Christmas rush

UK same day distribution company CitySprint plans to employ over 300 additional couriers in the run up to Christmas. Last year was CitySprint’s busiest festive period yet, with more than 500,000 deliveries made during November and December. The distribution service also registered an increase

consumer demand for last-minute deliveries, with orders peaking on 19th December and remaining high right up to Christmas Eve.

Patrick Gallagher, CEO, CitySprint commented: “Online sales have been growing at breath-taking rates and we are anticipating record volumes this year. Whether it’s unprecedented consumer demands or spells of extreme weather, we’re pulling out all the stops to ensure we’re prepared for the festive season, and have been laying the groundwork with our retail customers for months.”

“Consumers expect deliveries to be flexible and adaptable to fit their busy schedules, which is why we offer a 24/7 delivery service every day of the year. The retail and distribution

industries need to collaborate more than ever to ensure they offer consumers the right solutions this Christmas.”
