Arab countries agree to develop cooperation in postal services

Abdullah Ibrahim Al Daboos, Emirates Post’s Director General, has revealed a set of recommendations and resolutions adopted by the Arab Ministers of Communications during the Arab Cabinet Ministers’ meeting recently held in Casablanca.

The new resolutions and recommendations are meant to develop mutual cooperation with respect to the postal services.

A top UAE national delegation headed by Ahmed Humaid Al Tayer, Minister of Communica-tions, visited Morocco last week.

Al Daboos said the cabinet ministers agreed on reducing Express Mail (EMS) transactions fees of Arab Postal Corporations. To help Arab corporations compete in the market, the charge of each dispatch is now set at Dh12.92 instead of Dh18.45 previously in place.
