Austrian Post launches new HQ in Vienna
Austrian Post has held a ground-breaking ceremony for its new corporate headquarters in Vienna’s Rochusmarkt district. The new eight-storey office and retail building offers approximately 49,000 square metres of space and will accommodate 1,300 people.
Speaking at the ceremony today, the Director General of Austrian Post, Dr Georg Pölzl, said that the new headquarters will provide a “modern and innovative work environment”.
Special guests at the ceremony included Sonja Stessl, the Secretary for Administration and Civil Service in the Federal Chancellery, and Dr. Harald Mahrer, the State Secretary at the Federal Ministry for Science, Research and Economic Affairs.
Austrian Post said that investment in the new Post Office was “in the high double-digit [Euro] million range”.
The demolition work on Austrian Post’s old post office building in Vienna is now almost complete, although the 1920s Art Deco façade has been preserved for posterity.
