DPD unveils plans for further UK expansion
DPD has set out its plans to invest a further £150 million in the UK over next five years. The plans will involve opening an additional 10 depots and creating at least 750 new jobs in the process.
The company has already invested £250 million in its UK business over the past five years, opening 15 new depots and creating 4,000 new jobs.
One of these new depots is the 43,000 sq ft purpose built Raunds facility.
DPD’s CEO Dwain McDonald was at the Raunds facility today (6 May) to unveil the new £150 million investment plan and also meet UK Chancellor George Osbourne, who was on the campaign trail ahead of tomorrow’s parliamentary elections.
“Our record over the last five years speaks for itself with revenue up over £500m and 4,000 new jobs created,” said McDonald. “I’m incredibly proud of what we have been able to do in terms of UK jobs and wealth creation – no other parcel delivery company has come close to matching our levels of growth, profitability or investment in recent years.”
