After Hours Delivery service launched in Melbourne

Start-up company After Hours Delivery has set up a parcel forwarding service in Melbourne. The company receives packages from couriers on behalf of its customers during “normal” delivery hours, and then “on-delivers” then to the customers’ homes at a more convenient time in the evening.

After Hours Delivery arranges redeliveries in the metropolitan area between 7pm and 11 pm Monday to Friday and between 8am and 6pm on the weekend.

The company will be charging $12 per delivery, but up until 30 September it will be offering a introductory discounted price of $10 per delivery – and customers can bundle multiple parcel as one delivery for $10.

After Hours Delivery co-director Liam Hamilton said that the team was planning to “secure a fourth vehicle and expand interstate”.

Although After Hours Delivery is a small, localised operator, the company believes that it has identified a clear gap in the market – and it is one that is not restricted to Melbourne.

“More people are working longer hours and the commute to work is longer, too. They’re not home for that crazy 9am-5pm delivery window,” explained Hamilton. “We think it’s a niche and unique business at the moment … we’re just filling that void.”
