Mail & Express Delivery Show speakers announced

The first speakers for the Mail & Express Delivery Show have now been confirmed by services provider to the industry and conference organiser, Triangle Management Services. Held for the first time at Olympia London Conference Centre on Tuesday 30 June, the event’s speaker panel will see experts present on the key issues influencing the UK’s high volume generators in the post and parcel industry today.

Speakers confirmed so far: 

  • Stephen Agar, MD Consumer and Network Access, Royal Mail

Stephen is responsible for the regulated letters business (both USO and Access) as Managing Director, Consumer & Network Access, at Royal Mail. Previously a barrister, he started his career in the Government Legal Service before moving to Racal Electronics plc. He joined Royal Mail in 1991 and has held previous roles with Royal Mail including Business Strategy Director, Regulatory Affairs Director and MD, Royal Mail Wholesale.

  • Tim Robinson, CEO at Doddle

Doddle is the parcel collection, returning and sending service located in and around train stations across Britain. Tim joined the business in 2014 from Network Rail where he had held senior roles including Managing Director, Sussex and Freight Director. He has spent ten years in Executive roles within the UK rail freight sector including successful periods as Commercial Director at GB Railfeight and Business Development Director at DB Schenker Rail UK.

  • Nick Wells, CEO, Whistl

Nick has over 20 years’ experience in the DM industry and is one of the most senior industry commentators; he is a leading speaker on the liberalised postal market. He is a past Chair of the Institute of Sales Promotion and has sat on the board of Directors of the UK’s leading direct marketing trade body, the DMA. Under his guidance Whistl has become the leading challenger to Royal Mail.

  • Dick Stead, Executive Chairman, Yodel

Executive Chairman at Yodel, Dick Stead is responsible for developing and deploying the business strategy to transform Yodel into the largest and most profitable UK express parcel carrier with industry leading customer centricity. Yodel operates through three independent networks to meet the widest range of client and consumer needs.

  • Mark Bigley, CEO, Secured Mail

Secured Mail was established as a licensed postal operator in 2006 by CEO Mark Bigley. It has quickly grown to be the number three player in the wholesale Downstream Access (DSA) marketplace. With DSA, Secured Mail accesses Royal Mail’s Mail Centre network nationwide by collecting customers’ mail direct from the production facility, before transporting it back to Secured Mail’s own hubs.

  • Julian Myers, Director of Logistics, Santander

Julian is an experienced director in supply chain, logistics, cash and ATM, financial services, rebrand, integration, cost management and control. He holds the position of executive Committee member of Geoban UK, the operations business of Santander UK plc employing over 3,000 colleagues.

  • Ian Paterson, Chairman, Mail Users Association

Ian held senior roles with Royal Mail from 1991 to 2003 before moving to UK Mail, where he established the first downstream access in 2004. Leaving his role as Strategy & Regulatory Affairs Director in April 2014, Ian is now an independent consultant on postal issues – in particular regulation, legislation and business development. A founding member of the Mail Competition Forum, the PAF Advisory Board and the Working Access Group, Ian has been part of industry groups on areas such as reversions, forecasting and Mailmark, working with major mail users, mail producers and mail operators.

  • Rob Gittins Sales & Commercial Director Palletways (UK) Ltd

Following an extensive career in Logistics which commenced in 1984 Rob joined Palletways in September 2007 as UK Sales Director from UK Mail where he was Client Services Director. Having successfully developed corporate sales Rob was given the additional responsibility in 2012 for driving forward the growth of the Palletways Fulfilment business. In 2013 Rob joined the UK Board in his current role as UK Sales & Commercial Director adding to his role the commercial development of the member network.
