Dicom Transportation buys Orbis Logistics
Montreal-based Dicom Transportation Group has added last mile capabilities in the southern US states to its portfolio of services, through the acquisition of Orbis Logistics. With a primary facility in New Orleans, Orbis Logistics uses its regional network of agents operating through four transfer centres to provide B2B last mile services to large-scale customers in the industrial and retail verticals. Orbis will be aligned with the Logistics division of Dicom Transportation Group.
Dicom was acquired in February 2014 by Wind Point in partnership with Scott Dobak, who joined as CEO. Prior to joining Dicom, Scott served as President of RoadRunner Transportation’s LTL and TMS segments.
“Orbis Logistics serves as a perfect last mile complement to Dicom’s current line haul network in the US,” said Dobak.
Konrad Salaber, a principal at Wind Point, added: “As Dicom’s second US-based acquisition, Orbis Logistics serves as a natural extension of the Dicom platform. We are focused on building upon Dicom’s impressive growth trajectory, and we look forward to investing behind Orbis and expanding Dicom’s last mile capabilities.”
