North Arlington distribution hub for FedEx?

FedEx may be looking to set up a new distribution hub in North Arlington, New Jersey. Local media have reported that a site in North Arlington that has been vacant for nearly 30 years may be used to house a new 139,000-square-foot facility.

Representatives from property developer Porete Development LLC presented plans for the site, located at 38 Porete Avenue, to North Arlington’s mayor and council yesterday (13 August).

Robert Ceberio, the borough’s economic development consultant, told local media that, under the plan, FedEx would take a long-term lease for its facility.

Ceberio added that Porete Development LLC expect to begin their application process in September, and could have state and municipal approvals by November.

According to sources, the authorities may look favourably on the proposals because the developers are planning to build an intersecting road, which would allow for further development of the Porete Avenue area.
