Naked Wines launches “Text for Wine” service

Naked Wines has launched a new service which allows customers to order wine deliveries via text message. “Text for Wine” launched this month as a pilot in the UK. If it proves successful the company will look to roll it out to its customers in Australia and the US too.

The service will run from 9am to 7pm Monday to Friday and 9am till 1pm on Saturday – and the company says that it will “aim to reply to all texts within 20 minutes”.

Users have to opt-in via the Naked Wines main site or mobile site – they cannot currently register for Text for Wine via the app.

Naked Wines said that “the best bit” about the text ordering service is that: “You can be as vague or specific as you want. Ask us to order you a particular case or tell us the types of wines you like, the occasion or budget… and we’ll hand-pick a case for you.

“We’ll use the default card on your account to pay for your order (or any balance you’ve got saved up), and we’ll deliver your wines to your default delivery address.”

Delivery charges are free for customers spending £80 or more, otherwise they are £4.99.
