Plus8 Global Ventures looking to by ParcelPal mobile app

Plus8 Global Ventures has announced that it has entered into a non-binding letter of intent (LOI) to buy all of the assets related to the ParcelPal parcel delivery app from a Vancouver-based software developer. In a statement issued last Thursday (15 October), Plus8 said that it would look to start its roll-out plan for ParcelPal in Vancouver and “soon after” expand to include Calgary, Edmonton, Montreal, Toronto and Ottawa. The company said it would then look to make ParcelPal available in “select cities in the United States”.

The company said that it was now inviting people to apply to become delivery couriers either via the website or the ParcelPal Driver App which is available in the Apple App Store or Google Play Android store.

Commenting on his company’s plans for ParcelPal, Jason Moreau, CEO of Plus8 Global Ventures Ltd, said: “This is a very timely acquisition for Plus8 in light of Uber’s announcement of UberRush on October 13th. We are delighted to have the opportunity to acquire these mobile apps and we are excited to execute our plans to implement a national parcel delivery service upon closing.

“We expect to have a successful roll- out in Canada and have our sights set on a US roll-out in the future.”

Yesterday (21 October), Plus8 issued a follow-up statement saying that it intends to complete a non-brokered private placement financing package in order to fund its proposed acquisition of ParcelPal.
