Co-op cream for Wincanton

Wincanton has been awarded a five-year contract to handle the distribution of bottled and packaged milk for midlands Co-op. The logistics company has been operating the primary distribution for the midlands Co-op for five years but under the new contract it will also handle the secondary distribution deliveries to retailers.
The multi-drop operation centres on a bus-route logistics pattern with deliveries scheduled into 30-minute time slots.
Steve Basnett of Wincanton says: “We are constantly looking to improve service and quality levels, and reduce the overall cost base.”
