Panther Warehousing opens Bristol depot

White-glove specialist Panther Warehousing has expanded its national network with the opening of a new 25,000 sq ft depot in Bristol. Bringing the total number of Panther sites to seven, the new facility is situated close to the M4 and the wider motorway network on the Pucklechurch Trading Estate, Pucklechurch, north-east of Bristol.

Panther Warehousing said that opening the new site was part of a strategic £3m investment programme that is being rolled out over the next five years.

More than 25 jobs have being created at the Bristol Depot with a further 40 to follow over the next 3 months. The Depot handles on average around 1000 items a night. Goods are delivered across Bristol, Avon and South Wales in a fleet of 20 vehicles.

Colin McCarthy, the company’s Managing Director, said: “We are delighted to be opening our seventh depot in the UK in response to increasing demand for our premium white glove, two man delivery services.

“With the boom in internet shopping, and with more and more people having confidence to order large items online, particularly within the home furnishings sector, we expect that demand for our specialised services will grow and grow.”

Panther’s regular two-man delivery service ensures that a product is taken to a room of the customer’s choice, with the packaging removed, as a matter of course. In some circumstances, the team will also install a product.

The opening of the Bristol Depot comes two years after the company expanded into the South West with the establishment of a depot at Taunton, Somerset.
