Asda reports continuing growth in online sales

UK supermarket company Asda has reported continuing growth in online sales for the latest quarter, although it saw a 4.5% fall in overall sales. Online grocery sales were up 6% in the quarter ended 30 September, and George.com clothing sales were “growing ahead of the market” with an increase of 30%.

As previously reported, ASDA is keen to position itself at the heart of the e-commerce sector. Last week, it  launched its new “To You” parcel service – which  will enable customers to collect and return orders placed with third parties at any one of Asda’s 614 stores nationwide.
