NGL completes acquisition of Medical Logistic Solutions
Third-party logistics specialist Network Global Logistics (NGL) has completed its acquisition of US-based medical courier company, Medical Logistic Solutions (MLS). NGL also announced that it has hired healthcare industry veteran Kyle Schultz as Executive Vice President to manage the company’s strategy and programmes across the medical and healthcare sectors.
The acquisition was originally announced late last year.
In a statement issued yesterday (9 December), Schultz said: “There is a significant need and opportunity for the healthcare industry to benefit from better logistics services and solutions.
“There is so much pressure on the industry to reduce costs without impacting patient care and providing the right tissue, specimen, plasma or organ at the right hospital at the right time at the right cost. The closing of the MLS deal puts the final touches on what is now the logistics industry’s most comprehensive medical logistics network in the country and we are already working with numerous hospitals and providers nationwide to improve patient outcomes, while at the same time decreasing costs.”
The company’s medical logistics network provides courier services for broad range of customers, including pharmacies, hospital networks, clinical labs, blood banks, donor networks, doctors, veterinary services and other health organizations.
