Motor bikes for Manipur
Local sources report that the postal service in the Indian state of Manipur is now using a new fleet of motorbikes to help with Speed Post deliveries. Vinod Kumar, Director (Posts) Manipur, has been quoted by the Imphal Free Press as saying that seven new motor bikes are now on the road and more may be introduced “if the department feels more demand for it”.
The seven new bikes reportedly cover the postal delivery beats of Checkon Soibam Leikai, Wangkhei, Sangaiprou, Keishampat, Deulaland Dingku Road, Khongman and Uripok.
Kumar was also quoted as saying that “it is essential to change from the traditional bicycles to bikes as life moves at a very fast pace nowadays”.
