Deutsche Post Relocates U.S. Headquarters
Deutsche Post Global Mail, a shipper of U.S. business mail internationally and a cross-border mailer worldwide, has completed the relocation of its U.S. headquarters to Fairfax County.
Deutsche Post Global Mail is leasing a building in Herndon, near Washington Dulles International Airport. The headquarters employs 100 people. ‘Deutsche Post is a strong growth company that we are proud to welcome to the community,’ said Gerald L. Gordon, president and CEO of the Fairfax County Economic Development Authority. ‘This is a great example of how Fairfax County works for foreign-owned companies looking for a U.S. location.’
More than 220 foreign-owned companies have operations in Fairfax County, including 20 from Germany. The concentration of foreign-owned firms is the largest in the Washington, D.C., area. ‘Fairfax County is an ideal place to locate a business,’ said Harry Geller, CEO of the Americas at Deutsche Post Global Mail. ‘The county is home to an exceptionally educated workforce, located near the nation’s capital and provides easy access to locations in the U.S. and around the globe.’
Deutsche Post Global Mail provides a variety of international mail services, including in-country marketing expertise, up-to-date mailing lists, database management and production services. The company serves more than 7,000 U.S. customers through a network of 35 offices and three mail-handling terminals.
In 2001, the company handled over 84 million pieces of U.S.-based mail to international destinations. Deutsche Post Global Mail employs more than 130 people in the Washington area.
