DPD Germany, tiramizoo and poe team up for checkout integration
DPD Germany has developed a solution with same-day delivery specialist tiramizoo and cash register expert poe which means that orders for same-day shipping can be directly placed with the POSMAN cash register systems or with poe’s TRADEMAN merchandise management system. In a statement issued today (22 February), DPD Germany said that the cooperative agreement will mean that “retailers can quickly and conveniently offer their customers delivery on the same day”.
The DPD statement continued: “If necessary, retail multiples can make an immediate check on stocks at their other branches, so that goods which are not available at one location can simply be delivered to the customer’s home by courier.”
The delivery service is provide by tiramizoo, the Munich-based company in which DPD is a major investor.
DPD added: “The new cash register integration now also enables the same-day delivery of goods which are purchased online and then delivered from a bricks-and-mortar retail outlet. The poe software accordingly covers the entire service spectrum, ranging from warehouse management and product orders via the arrangement of same-day transport to shipment processing. Thanks to the cash register as the universal interface, retailers can now implement omni-channel concepts much more easily and efficiently.”
Michael Knaupe, Director of Products & Services at DPD Germany, said: “It has never been easier for high-street retailers to combine a high level of product availability on site with convenient same-day delivery.
“We are gradually planning to integrate further services with the poe cash register systems, enabling retailers to link their sales and shipping channels even more closely.”
According to DPD, tiramizoo can either deliver the goods within 90 minutes or during a “freely selectable two-hour time window” between 10:00 and 20:00.
DPD said that more services – including the processing of returns – will be integrated with the poe cash register systems in the future.
DPD told Post&Parcel that it will be unveiling the new system at the EuroCIS retail technology trade fair, which starts tomorrow (23 February) in Dusseldorf.
