Best Buy expands same-day delivery tests

Electronics retailer Best Buy is expanding its test of same-day delivery service to 13 major metro markets across the US. Best Buy started the pilot in San Francisco in 2015 and expanded it to New York early this year.

In a statement issued on Wednesday (6 April), the company said that it has since added Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Miami, Philadelphia, Seattle and Washington, D.C.

Best Buy is running the service in partnership with on-demand delivery specialist Deliv.

According to the Best Buy statement: “Prices vary, with an average cost of $10 to $20 per order. That’s about the same price as one-day business express shipping. Same-day delivery for printer ink is currently free.

“Orders must be placed on BestBuy.com by 3 p.m. local time and will be delivered by 9 p.m. that day. Deliv does not provide the service on Sundays or for items weighing more than 50 pounds.”
