DHL appoints new UAE Country Manager

DHL Express has appointed Geoff Walsh as its new UAE Country Manager. Walsh was previously the Country Manager for DHL Express in Saudi Arabia for four years.

Commenting on his new appointment, Walsh said: “We have been operating in the UAE for 40 years and have progressively grown from 15 staff members to more than 1,000 employees, we lead the market in terms of share of business.

“The logistics and transport sectors largely contribute are to Dubai’s GDP and while many expect the market to suffer due to the low oil prices and economic uncertainty, the industrial sector in the UAE remains strong and resilient, largely due to its prime location and accessibility as a regional hub. It is a vibrant market and I am looking forward to contributing to DHL ‘s future developments and growth”.

Walsh has been part of DHL’s UAE set-up before. According to his LinkedIn profile, he was UAE Ground Operations Manager from 2000 to 2003, and UAE National Operations Manager from 2003 to 2008.
