Deutsche Post takes over the relocation service ich-zieh-um.de

As of 1 January 2003, Deutsche Post is to take over the relocation and address registration service, ich-zieh-um.de GmbH. The firm’s current majority shareholder, RWE Com GmbH & Co OHG, is selling all the shares it acquired in August 2001 to Deutsche Post, following the reorganisation of its investment structure. ich-zieh-um.de’s service will make it easier for customers to register their new address and provides tips and advice on moving home.

The take-over of ich-zieh-um.de GmbH rounds off Deutsche Post’s service portfolio for businesses and private customers. Deutsche Post’s successfully-launched relocation website will continue to provide a comprehensive range of services at www.umzugservice.com , e.g. enabling customers to make arrangements on the Internet for their mail to be forwarded. The two websites and their names will be maintained in the future. However, during an integration phase, potential synergies will be tapped through the creation of a joint technical platform.

ich-zieh-um.de GmbH has a German-language service website for moving home at www.ich-zieh-um.de. Along with a variety of information on moving home, the service includes a relocation information function, enabling a person who is relocating to notify more than 1,000 German companies of the planned move at the click of a mouse. This service is also part of the websites of a number of other companies, such as Bewag AG, the Stadtwerke Düsseldorf, the SIGNAL IDUNA Group and the Hamburger Sparkasse.
