E-kart running parcel locker pilot

E-kart running parcel locker pilot

Flipkart’s logistics company E-kart is running a pilot programme using automated parcel lockers, according to local sources. Neeraj Aggarwal, E-kart’s Vice President of Last Mile Operation, was quoted as saying: “This is an early-stage experiment for automated lockers, supported by Qikpod’s tech.”

As previously reported by Post&Parcel, Qikpod has plans to build up a national network of parcel lockers across India, and Flipkart is an investor in the company.

The E-kart pilot will allow for parcel collection in lockers installed in offices on a number of “tech parks”, sources report. Ekart also offers customers the opportunity to pick up their parcels at their partner “kirana” (local convenience) stores.
