India Post reinforces relationship with Amazon India
India Post released the ‘My Stamp’ with Amazon India on Friday (3 June), in recognition of their working relationship and to mark the e-commerce marketplace’s third anniversary in the country. Usha Chandrashekar, Chief Post Master General, Karnataka Circle, Department of India Post handed over the Amazon India ‘My Stamp’ to Amit Agarwal, Vice President and Country Manager, Amazon India.
India Post is one of the prime carriers that Amazon India uses as a delivery channel.
In a statement issued on Friday, Amazon said: “Using the extensive network of India Post, Amazon.in services customers in over 19,000 pin-codes through 155,000 post-offices which includes a majority of outlets in rural areas across all 35 states and union territories in India.
“The collaboration has ensured fast, convenient and reliable deliveries to customers across the country.”
Chandrashekar commented: “This is the first time that the Department of Post has released ‘My Stamp’ to commemorate a milestone with an ecommerce marketplace. The launch reinforces the Amazon and India Post relationship. We wish Amazon all the best as it celebrates its third anniversary and would like to say that it is a step to the fulfillment of the aspirations of the people in rural India.”
Amazon’s Agarwal added: “Over the last three years we have relentlessly focused on providing customers with massive selection, fast and reliable delivery, and a trustworthy shopping experience. India Post has been a valuable partner to us and we look forward to our continued association as we endeavor to transform the way India buys and sells.”
