The White Stuff

The White Stuff

Global Freight Solutions (GFS) has begun working with Panther, the provider of one and two-man home delivery services, to help meet the boom in online sales of domestic electrical equipment (or “white goods”). GFS Commercial Director, Daniel Ennor, commented: “Evidence from the retailers with which we work has underlined how consumers are becoming ever more confident in ordering larger goods online.

“Even in the last few years, there has been a clear progression from merely researching items such as fridges, freezers, washing machines and large TVs online before buying in store.

“Now, shoppers are quite prepared to complete transactions online and that means being able to offer appropriate and specialist support of a firm like Panther, given that not every delivery company is able to ship such large products.

“Our partnership means that GFS Checkout is able to provide an unparalleled breadth of premium, standard and alternative delivery services to retailers both large and small.”

Panther operates a nationwide service with 230 two-man teams and a network of seven depots. Earlier this year, it moved to a new 165,000 square foot cross-dock main facility in Northampton and invested £3m in a new fleet to cope with increasing business.
