TNT may purchase A considerable quantity of TU-204 planes

According to a reliable ranking source at the Tupolev company, TNT, specializing at transiting mail by air and is among the world’s largest companies in this sphere, may purchase “a considerable quantity of Tu-204-class planes,” produced by the Aviastar-SP Enterprise of Ulyanovsk.

As the source ascertained, “at the moment TNT is using 4 Tu-204 planes, two of them with PS-90A engines produced in Russia and two Tu-204-120 planes, equipped by foreign engines. Liege is a station for 36-38 planes of the TNT airline. Approximately 80% of this fleet should be replaced within the next few years (almost 25 aircraft). TNT is satisfied with Tu-204 planes, equipped both with PS-90A and Rolls Royce engines. From the promising fleet of 25 aircraft, Tu-204 planes of Russia could count on the main part (over 50%) of that quantity.”

In relation to certification of the Tu-204-120 plane, which is now held to comply with the JAR West European flight airworthiness, the source stated that the Tu-204-120 plane equipped by Rolls-Royce engines and the Western avionics is now being certified to comply with the West European flight standards.
