Asendia partners with Israel Post
Asendia has announced that it has agreed a sales partnership with Israel Post which will provide support for online retailers looking to expand to the Israeli e-commerce market. Israelis are enthusiastic about e-commerce: with 91% of Israel’s internet users having purchased items online.
In a statement sent to Post&Parcel today (6 September) Asendia said that Israel’s “highly urbanized population of 8m produced one of the highest global smartphone penetration of 75% in 2015, with one in three online purchases carried out via smartphone”.
Asendia (which is a joint venture between La Poste and Swiss Post) said that its agreement with Israel Post will mean that “retailers will have access to very competitive and qualitative solutions with the service ‘Tracked Goods’ to Israel”.
Marc Pontet, CEO Asendia Group, commented: “Israel has a promising and steadily growing e-commerce market, offering a wide variety of options for retailers. The partnership with Israel Post will create many opportunities for e-shoppers from UK, the USA and continental Europe.”
Israel Post has three main sorting centres, handling 1.8m items a day, and 2,200 postmen and subcontractors deliver to every locality in Israel.
