Deutsche Post DHL partners with Correo Argentino
Deutsche Post DHL Group has signed a memorandum of understanding with the postal provider Correo Argentino. “This partnership represents a great opportunity for Correo Argentino and Deutsche Post DHL Group to actively contribute to Argentina’s current growth-friendly environment, promoted by President Mauricio Macri, as this state-owned company works to become the leading provider of logistics services and expertise in the country,” said Thomas Baldry, Senior Vice President, International Mail & International Relations at Deutsche Post DHL, who attended a meeting with President Mauricio Macri and Correo Argentino’s executives to announce the agreement.
“We are glad to provide operational and logistical support, as well as our company’s expertise and guidance as Correo Argentino enters a new period of opportunity and expansion,” Baldry added.
The collaboration will allow Correo Argentino’s global network and expertise, while DHL will gain an increased presence in Argentina through Correo Argentino’s 1,500 points of sale located across the country.
Jorge Irigoin, CEO of Correo Argentino, commented: “This truly is a paradigmatic example of synergistic collaboration, and we look forward to uncovering and creating new business opportunities to strengthen our traditional activities in a period of significant growth as we upgrade our infrastructure, expand our services and also our network reach.”
Deutsche Post DHL said that the details of the collaboration “will be worked out over the following six months”.
