Europa launches daily route to Hamburg
Europa Road has strengthened its connections to Germany with the launch a new daily route to Hamburg. The new service is Europa’s seventh to run to and from Germany. It is also the sixth route to be launched this year and follows the introduction of a new second daily line to and from Como in Italy.
Europa said that the direct connection will create a reduced final mile distribution cost. The service connects the company’s 1hub in Dartford with Hamburg-based logistics operator Bursped.
Hamburg is the second largest city in Germany and the 15th largest container port in the world.
Dan Cook, Operations Director at Europa Road, said: “Hamburg is the latest part of our strategic plan to become the leading road freight operator in the German market and joins our six existing routes (Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, Stuttgart, Cologne, Rothlein and Hannover) to strengthen our influence in the country.
“The city has impressive credentials with regards to international connectivity, which will contribute greatly to helping us provide the flexible, efficient and reliable service to our loyal customers. We are looking to 2017 with great optimism and have ambitions to introduce another five new routes across Europe next year.”
Europa Road currently has 37 road routes servicing Europe, 21 of which operate as daily services.
