Optimail increases turnover by more than 44%
The Swedish Optimail increased its turnover by more than 44% to approx. 26.6m
euros during the financial year 2002. According to the daily ‘Dagens Industri’ (27.1) Optimail will be able to show a profit of around 2.9m euros for the entire financial year (2001: 119.000 euros). An evaluation of the result must take into account, however, that around 2m euros of the profit were due to proceeds from the sale of half the shares of CityMail Sweden CEP News 38/02).
For the current quarter Optimail managing director Mr Frederik Olsson is expecting a development similar to that in last year’s fourth quarter, i.e. a 7.5m euros turnover and a result of approx. 205.000 euros.
However, Mr Olsson no longer sees the originally announced approx. 8% margin as
attainable in the short term, although he confirmed previous long-term growth expectations. Optimail aims to increase its turnover to attain the region between 43 and 54m euros by 2004.
A prime target to be reached simultaneously, according to Mr Olsson, is an annual increase of the operating profit.
