Deutsche Post to deliver US parcels on the ground

Deutsche Post World Net AG’s courier company DHL World Express could start as early as March to deliver parcels in the US on the ground, in addition to its current deliveries by plane, the Financial Times Deutschland reported, citing a company spokesman.

The interest for cheaper ground transports, in contrast to the more expensive transport by plane, is rising due to the weak economic situation and more customers also want door-to-door deliveries, Financial Times Deutschland said in a prereleased article from tomorrow’s edition.
