TPG signs 3Yr logistics deal with Telecom Italia worth 120m Eur

TPG NV said it has signed a three-year outsourcing logistics contract worth about 120 mln eur with Telecom Italia SpA, after receiving approval from the Italian Competition Authority and completing union consultation procedures.

Under the terms of the agreement, TNT Logistics will take over the running of Telecom Italia’s Telecom Customer’s business and private fixed-line telephony product warehousing and distribution, as well as its network support and installation.

Telecom Italia will transfer the company unit that undertakes these operations to TPG’s TNT Logistics Italia. The transfer involves 338 employees at 6 central warehouses and 100 outlying storage facilities located in Italy’s main cities, handling more than 4.5 mln telephones and telephone installation items per year.

TPG said the deal reconfirms its domestic leadership in the Italian telecommunications logistics market.
