Royal Mail’s John Modd appointed to Spring management board

Royal Mail has announced the secondment of John Modd, previously Managing Director of its International Services business, to Spring, the joint venture cross border mailing company established by Royal Mail, TPG and Singapore Post.

Mr Modd took up the role of Vice President Strategy and Business Development on May 5 2003.

Kevin Williams, Royal Mail Managing Director International welcomed the appointment. “John played the lead role for Royal Mail in the establishment of the joint venture company. His appointment to the management board is a sign of both his and Royal Mail’s support for Spring in achieving its vision of becoming the world’s number one private global mail distribution company. John’s wealth of experience will be a real asset to Spring, and the International mailing industry, in developing and shaping the way in which it operates in the future”.

John Modd said “Since commencing trading in July 2001, Spring has quickly established itself as the leading player in the cross-border business mail market, offering a wide range of innovative mailing solutions. I am looking forward to the challenge of helping Spring to identify and explore new opportunities which will benefit its employees, shareholders and most importantly, all international business mailers around the world”

Based at Spring’s Headquarters in Amsterdam, John will report direct to Spring’s CEO, Theo Jongsma.
