Postcomm issues long term licence to UK Mail

Postcomm today issued its fourth long term licence to UK Mail Ltd. The licence, for a minimum period of seven years, will enable the company to provide consolidation services for business customers.
UK Mail Ltd currently holds an interim postal licence for similar services. This will be revoked by consent.
The document detailing Postcomm’s decision and the text of the licence can be found on Postcomm’s website, www.postcomm.gov.uk. Copies are available from Postcomm at 6 Hercules Road London SE1 7DB.
Notes for Editors
In addition to Royal Mail, Postcomm has already awarded long term postal licences to Hays Commercial Services Ltd, TPG Post UK Ltd, and Express Ltd. There are eight interim licences, which have a minimum life of 12 months.
Consolidation involves the collection and pre-sorting of mail, which is then passed to Royal Mail for final delivery.
