DHL gets customs approval for express handling gateway at Delhi Airport
DHL Worldwide Express (India) Pvt Ltd has received final approval from the Indian customs authorities to establish a dedicated express handling gateway at the Delhi airport.
It has also been allotted a building within the airport premises for the purpose. The gateway will be India’s first dedicated terminal with airside clearance and customs clearance facilities.The establishment of the gateway will ensure that DHL’s express parcels and cargo will not be required to pass through the cumbersome customs procedures that are a part of the general customs clearance facilities in India’s international terminals. DHL will set up the facility at a cost of two million euros. It will begin operations by Sep 2003.
DHL is also planning to set up dedicated terminals at Mumbai and Chennai.
