Bashar Obeid appointed Aramex CEO

The Aramex Board of Directors has appointed Bashar Obeid, currently Chief Financial Officer, as Chief Executive Officer.

Obeid, who has been with the company since 1993, will succeed Hussein Hachem.

Commenting on his new role, Obeid said: “I am extremely honored with this appointment. We remain focused on growing the business further and moving forward with our strategy to transform Aramex into a technology-based enterprise.

Interestingly, on 16 October, Aramex announced that Obeid would be stepping down from his position as Aramex’s Chief Financial Officer “in order to pursue other endeavours”. At the time, Aramex said that Obeid would continue to serve as the company’s CFO until 28 February 2018 in order to “facilitate a smooth transition of his responsibilities”.
