Twinnings and TNT Network Logistics increase partnership in UK

Jim Crook, Twinnings distribution and stock manager, and John Mead, general manager for TNT Network Logistics’ Wellsbourne and Bristol Depots, drink to an expanded partnership.

Twinnings, a TNT client since 1990, acquired Ovaltine last year and has now added the warehousing and distribution contract for the product to the volumes TNT is already handling. The contract involves the storage and distribution of more than 9m cases of tea and Ovaltine/Options to supermarkets, wholesalers and caterers.

Four hundred varieties of tea are delivered on pallets from factories in Newcastle and Andover into TNT’s Wellsbourne hub. Ovaltine products are manufacturered in the UK and Switzerland. The products can be combined on the same delivery pallet and are picked, packed and despatched 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
