DHL introduces Fast Forward for heavy weight packages

DHL Express has announced the launch of Fast Forward, a new service promising cost-effective efficiency for customers in Singapore and the Asia Pacific. Fast Forward facilitates the import and export of shipments weighing 20kg and over, between 220 countries around the world.

Extensive research indicated that conventional handling of heavy weight packages involved multi-parties and multi-currencies arrangements. Fast Forward is a one-stop service, providing customers with greater cost transparencies, savings, convenience, flexibility, security and speed.

Fast Forward also incorporates Trade Automated Services (TAS), an online platform that provides comprehensive trade and customs information in 50 key countries worldwide. TAS calculates shipment costs, generates import/export documentation, screens senders and receivers against government embargoes and sanctions lists, and facilitates informed sourcing decisions by comparing goods’ export and import clearance costs and regulations.

Fast Forward allows flexible delivery time and location for inbound shipments, free warehousing service of up to three days for inbound shipments, consolidated invoicing, credit or duty deferment accounts for import duties and taxes, and track-and-trace.

“With Fast Forward, DHL is able to change the pace at which the world works. Customers’ demands for alternatives can now be met. Given the combined strength of the new DHL and our experience and expertise in developing new solutions to facilitate trade and movement, we believe that Fast Forward will set a new standard for the market,” said John Pearson, Commercial Director, DHL Express.
