Post & Parcel Live: The Food Delivery Seminar
Delegates attending Post & Parcel Live: The Food Delivery Seminar in London today (25 January) explored how innovative apps, packaging and addressing technologies are transforming the industry.
In the opening session, Bea Warner, CEO and Co-Founder of Exaactly, and Colin Turner, Senior Strategy Manager, Supply Chain with the John Lewis Partnership, explained how online consumers could use the Exaactly system to give detailed information about their delivery location to couriers, in order to reduce the risk of failed or late deliveries.
Danny Hawkins, CTO and Co-Founder of Quiqup, then looked at Logistics as a Service (LaaS) can enable food retailers to expand their delivery options.
Nicole Mazza, Head of Business Development with Stuart, and James Middleton, the Founder and CEO of Street Stream, both focused on how to meet and exceed customers’ rising expectations – by offering fast deliveries, precise time slots, and accurate parcel tracking.
In the first afternoon session, Fred Lill, the owner/director of event-sponsor Lil Packaging, looked at some of latest innovations in packaging solutions for food deliveries. Lill focused in particular on “letterboxable” packages.
Jonathan Pratt, Head of CRM at DPD, gave an overview of his company’s experience of offering fresh food delivery services.
DPD started its food delivery service in the UK in 2016, and it is expanding fast. Pratt said that new developments for 2018 will include cross border deliveries and active cold chain capabilities.
