PostNL set to start operating new parcel centres in 2018

Building begins at PostNL’s new parcel sorting centres.

PostNL plans to start operating three new parcels sorting centres in the second half of 2018.

The facilities will be located in Apeldoorn, Duivendrecht and Venlo.

In a statement issued last week, the company said that it had started building the new centres in Venlo and Duivendrecht.

Liesbeth Kaashoek, Director Parcels and Logistics at PostNL, commented: ‘To strengthen our position as a leading logistics e-commerce company in the Benelux, we are currently investing more in our parcels infrastructure.

“These parcels sorting centres will help us respond even better to the huge growth we are seeing in e-commerce.

“We hope to stimulate the development of the regional e-commerce sector by servicing them even better. Both Venlo and Apeldoorn will also play an important role in improving the connection of our German customers with our network.”
