Neiman Marcus Group names FedEx companies exclusive carriers

FedEx has announced that The Neiman Marcus Group Inc., a premier upscale American retailer for generations, has selected three FedEx operating companies as exclusive providers of shipping services for all Neiman Marcus divisions.

The three-year agreement will be “multi-modal,” relying on services provided by FedEx Express for domestic and international express deliveries and by FedEx Ground. Neiman Marcus will also utilize FedEx Freight for other freight services.

The Neiman Marcus Group, Inc. includes the Specialty Retail segment, which consists of 35 Neiman Marcus stores, two Bergdorf Goodman stores and 14 clearance stores across the United States, and Neiman Marcus Direct, the direct marketing and fulfillment business that markets the Neiman Marcus, Horchow and Chef’s Catalog brands.

These retailers offer upscale assortments of apparel, accessories, jewelry, beauty and decorative home products to the affluent consumer.

The agreement includes shipments to stores from suppliers, to retail stores from Neiman Marcus Group distribution centers, to catalog customers from distribution centers, and to customers ordering directly from retail stores.

The FedEx solutions Neiman Marcus will be using include:

— FedEx Home Delivery, the innovative business-to-consumer service for residential delivery in one to five days to virtually every home in the U.S. FedEx Home Delivery, a division of FedEx Ground, is backed by a money-back guarantee and offers delivery with signature verification, date certain and evening delivery, and delivery by appointment.

— FedEx InSight, which proactively tracks inbound, outbound and third-party shipments to provide precise status summaries on multi-package shipments in a single report. It also helps pinpoint customs delays and suggests actions to expedite deliveries.

“This agreement brings together two of the world’s ‘gold standards’ of excellence in quality and customer service,” said David B. Edmonds, senior vice president of Worldwide Services for FedEx. “Using our complete portfolio of transportation solutions, we have once again put together a complete, customized, one-stop transportation solution in meeting a customer’s needs today and helping them maintain their leadership tomorrow.”
