Investment for Locpin

Smart location technology company Locpin has announced a global partnership and investment deal with Belron, the vehicle glass repair and replacement group.

In a recent trial in the US, Belron used Locpin’s technology to locate customers’ vehicles both at their homes and at the roadside.

In a statement sent to Post&Parcel today (16 April), Locpin said: “Rollout of Locpin’s patent-pending mobile technology will begin in the US initially helping Safelite AutoGlass enhance its end to end experience, by allowing technicians to pinpoint the precise location of a customer’s vehicle, with wider rollout in the UK and other markets expected later in 2018.”

Established in 2016, Locpin uses geolocation technology to “allow the recipient of any delivery to share their exact location/address with the delivery agent”. The system uses GPS co-ordinates and links location data to the customer’s email or mobile phone, removing the need to create a separate code or password.
