Waldron to head UK Post Office joint venture

Patrick Waldron has been named CEO of the newly formed joint venture between The Bank of Ireland Group and the UK’s Post Office Ltd, part of the Royal Mail Group. Waldron, a 24-year veteran of the Bank of Ireland, was previously the bank’s director of retail strategy and change. The 50-50 joint venture plans to launch Post Office-branded financial services early next year through Post Office outlets, the phone and online. The operation expects to offer personal loans, savings accounts, credit cards, personal insurance and mortgages.
