DHL's Kuala Lumpur Gateway gets class
DHL, an express and logistics company, says it has obtained an Asia Category ‘A’ certification from the Technology Asset Protection Association (TAPA) for its Kuala Lumpur International Airport Gateway (KLIA Gateway).
TAPA is a non-profit organisation set up by representatives from the manufacturing and high-tech industries, freight forwarders and professional consulting companies. It was established to guarantee high security standards in the freight transportation of high-value technology products to minimise monetary or asset losses incurred due to theft during the shipment process.
The TAPA certification at DHL’s KLIA Gateway is the 21st successful TAPA certification for DHL worlwide.
However, DHL’s KLIA Gateway is not the only facility in Malaysia to achieve this certification as it Penang Gateway became the first DHL facility in the Asia Pacific region to be TAPA certified in May last year.
DHL said its Express Service Centre in Seremban is slated for TAPA certification by Q1 2004 and planned to obtain similar certification for its Johor Bahru Gateway and Port Klang Service Centre by Q3 2004.
