Sondagsavisen accuses Post Danmark of price dumping
The Danish advertisements publishing and distribution company Sondagsavisen A/S said on Tuesday (2 December) that it had brought an action against the Danish postal services company Post Danmark before the Danish competition authority Konkurrencestyrelsen.
Sondagsavisen said that it believed Post Danmark had violated its accounting regulations and performed illegal cross subsidisation in offering unaddressed door-to-door distribution of printed matter at loss-making prices.
“When Post Danmark, based on this dominant position, offers printed matter distributed door-to-door at loss-making prices, Sondagsavisen believes that Post Danmark, through their dumping of prices, clearly violates the provisions of the Danish Competition Act on unfair competition,” Sondagsavisen said.
Sondagsavisen’s distribution business area Forbruger-Kontakt recently lost its distribution contracts with Coop Danmark, Super Best and Spar to Post Danmark.
