CAE Delivers announces rebrand, senior hires and major expansion

CAE Delivers has announced a rebrand and the recruitment of two senior executives.

Formerly known as City Air Express, CAE Delivers said that the rebrand was the latest part of a major overhaul of operations following a change of ownership.

Managing Director Jamie Knapper described the appointments of Dean Lycett and Tim Quinn as a “significant coup” for a firm looking to further develop its reputation as a leading independent specialist in UK to Ireland deliveries.

“We have invested significantly in both infrastructure and personnel in order to underline our strengths, especially in deliveries to Ireland, which have been growing dramatically of late,” said Knapper.

Knapper’s comments come 18 months after he and his brother, Jason – CAE Deliver’s Group Operations Director – bought out director Adrian O’Connell, who founded the business in 1975.

He said that the “substantial” transformation of CAE Deliver’s services would primarily support an increase in the amount of shipments moved between the UK and the Republic of Ireland by clients in the retail, pharmaceutical and media industries in particular.

Lycett joins as CAE Deliver’s Group Business Development Director having spent two years in a similar capacity with Nightline, prior to its acquisition by UPS.

Before that, he spent more than a decade as National Sales Manager first with ANC Express and then – after it was taken over in 2006 – with FedEx.

Quinn’s decision to come on-board as CAE Deliver’s National Sales Manager follows his eight years as Nightline’s Business Development Manager.  He also had lengthy spells with both CityLink and Securicor Omega Express, before the latter was taken over by Deutsche Post in 2003.

Knapper said that the appointments came at a “tremendously exciting time” for CAE Delivers. Last month, it announced the roll-out of a new, faster next-day service to Ireland following a successful pilot.
