MHS buys fellow sortation system provider OCM

Kentucky-based Material Handling Systems (MHS) has bought Italy’s Officina Costruzioni Meccaniche (OCM). Both companies specialise in providing sortation systems for parcel couriers and logistics companies.

OCM was founded in 1976 and is headquartered in Parma, Italy. The terms of the deal were not disclosed.

In a statement issued this week, Tony Mouser, Chief Executive Officer of MHS, commented: “Over the last 40 years, OCM has continuously adapted to the ever-changing demands of the logistics industry by investing in research & development and operations in order to provide its customers with the most accurate, efficient, and technologically-advanced solutions. We are very excited to partner with Antonio Amadasi and the talented team at OCM, who share in our ongoing commitment to the highest levels of excellence and customer satisfaction.”

Antonio Amadasi, Chief Executive Officer of OCM, added: “We are very excited to align ourselves with Tony and the MHS family, and believe that our new partnership will further enhance our ability to provide our customers with comprehensive, customizable offerings that address their most complex logistical needs.”

As previously reported by Post&Parcel, MHS has been on the acquisition trail. The company has recently bought both the Georgia-based A2i Systems and Netherlands-based VanRiet Material Handling Systems.
